And now, one bizarre new trend is taking the internet by storm. It sees beauty gurus plastering their faces with essential oils, 'anti-wrinkle' patches and 'chin straps' in an effort to look more youthful.

Dubbed as the 'morning shed', you may assume this popularised routine even sees advocates shedding their skin.But it's actually nothing of the sort.

Instead, it refers to the process of falling asleep with the face completely taped up and blanketed in these products, before removing them from the face on waking up each morning.
