I wouldn't ever call myself a practical dresser, but as a travel writer who's been on holiday to the Lake District for many years in a row now – trips that involve all types of weather and lots of walking – I think I've nailed what to wear when visiting in autumn, including some great high street finds.
I recently spent a weekend hiking the scenery around Cumbria's Grasmere and Lake Windermere, where we experienced every weather possible: bright sunshine, heavy downpours and flooded pathways.
