As a beauty editor, I'm constantly asked for product recommendations by friends and family. The top three requests are usually for moisturisers, mascaras or perfumes.
I used to find the latter surprising because perfume is such a personal choice. What I consider a sophisticated scent might not appeal to someone else, especially as I have a preference for woody and sweet scents with vanilla notes which isn't everyone's cup of tea.
But the more I've been asked for fragrance recommendations, the more I understand why. A good perfume is a significant investment, often costing over £70 for a quality EDP.
People want to ensure they're choosing a scent they'll love enough to use until the bottle is empty. With this in mind, I take my recommendations seriously.
