The Hollyoaks actor was paired up with Sue Cleaver and royal rugby player Mike Tindall as they headed off on a squeamish trial to introduce them to the show.
But immediately fans started laughing at him during a series of unfortunate comments and blunders. For starters, when introducing himself to Scarlette Douglas, he seemed to not know who she was, prompting Boy George to tell him she was from A Place In The Sun.
Rather than recognising the show, he responded: "Oh yeah? Whereabouts?" Later on, he was seen knocking on a locked door during the trial, and poking himself in the eye under instruction from cheeky Sue who was giving him instructions on how to get through the challenge.
