I'm A Celebrity's Oti Mabuse has opened up about the harsh reality of mum-shaming.The 34 year old Strictly Come Dancing star, who is married to Romanian dancer Marius Lepure, became a first-time mum on Christmas day 2023.
However, she revealed that her return to work was met with cruel comments from online trolls. In a heart-to-heart with fellow campmate Coleen Rooney, Oti admitted that she may eventually have to 'give up her job' to fully dedicate herself to her children.
She said: "Because I'm a dancer, it was really difficult to say when I would start having a family because my body is my job, and also, you have to be financially ready." On the topic of leaving work, Oti added: "Eventually, I'll have to give all of this up and just dedicate my life to them because I want to be there, I want to do the school run." Coleen responded: "You can still be a strong individual, dedicating your life to that," with Oti agreeing.
Oti then addressed the stereotype of housewives, saying: "I think there's this preconceived notion that when you're a housewife you've got no ambition," before Coleen confessed: "I come across a lot of women who find it easy to come to work and find it hard being a mum.", reports the Mirror.
