Jaden Adams knew he identified as a boy long before he understood what the word transgender meant. He would beg his mum to buy him clothes from the boys’ section and only resonated with male characters on TV.
But growing up on a council estate in Oldham, the 30-year-old was bullied throughout his younger years and quickly grew ashamed of how he felt. I wanted to be a boy.” Once a promising drama student at Manchester College, Jaden convinced himself he needed a "proper" job and dropped out of education to become a gas engineer.
In his late 20s, he decided to take a break from his career to travel around Canada and spent three months living on a farm.
