It is a necessary evil for heading off to far-flung countries and it is something many travellers do not enjoy.Long-haul flights can be especially gruelling and uncomfortable, and if you don't get a decent seat, this can be compounded all throughout the journey.One man who was keen to make his 12-hour flight as stress-free as possible took to Reddit after finding himself in an awkward situation involving an elderly couple, The Mirror reports.The passenger, who is 6ft 3in tall, had specifically booked seats with extra legroom, happy to pay the extra charge for some more comfort during the journey from New Zealand to Los Angeles.
However, when he and his partner made their way to their seats, they found an elderly couple sitting in them.Appealing to the man's softer side, the older pair tried to get the younger couple to let them keep the roomier chairs.
The man, however, would not back down and made them move to their assigned seats - which led to him being thrown evil glares from fellow passengers throughout the flight.Determined to be supported in his decision, he turned to Reddit to find out what other people thought.
