Singer Rick Astley has revealed that he “didn’t speak” to his father for more than two decades before he died last year, due to their complicated relationship.

His mother Cynthia also passed away in recent years and, following losing both parents, Rick embarked on a journey with therapy to debunk and understand his complicated relationship with his parents.
Rick, who is married to Lene Bausager, told MailOnline: “When he died, I hadn't spoken to him for 25 years, more. He was such a complicated person and, when my daughter was born, I decided I didn't want that complication in her life”.
