The 2018 movie I Can Only Imagine is getting a sequel and the main cast has been revealed! The first film, which follows the story of Christian music group MercyMe‘s lead singer Bart Millard, grossed $86 million worldwide after being made for just $7 million.

The sequel will be directed by Andrew Erwin and Brent McCorkle from a screenplay written by McCorkle.

Producer Kevin Downes said, “We couldn’t be more thrilled with the level of talent that has come together to continue this extraordinary story.” Co-director Andrew Erwin added, “The first I Can Only Imagine film was such a rare magical moment, and with Brent’s script, this new film will complete Bart’s journey in such a satisfying way.
