The Manchester City academy has produced an impressive list of defensive midfielders in recent years, and competition is rife for the next generation coming through this year.
Tommy Doyle won the FA Youth Cup with City, playing seven times for the first team before helping Sheffield United to promotion last season and he is now playing for Wolves in the Premier League.
His replacement at City, Romeo Lavia, got two senior appearances before a big-money move to Southampton, and an even bigger-money move to Chelsea this summer.
And Lavia's replacement at the City Football Academy Shea Charles became his replacement at St Mary's, moving for up to £15m.
