Electricity North West said the outage was affecting 437 customers as of 3am - but gave an update at 3.45am saying power had been restored to the majority of homes.
The fault was first reported at 2.39am. The supplier said the power cut was caused by an "unexpected incident" on the high-voltage cable which provides electricity to properties in the area.
It hopes to restore power to the remaining properties before 5.30am. You can see all the latest news from around Greater Manchester. For more stories from where you live, visit InYourArea.
