Today we have learned something – and that is that we have Scarlett Johansson to thank for the trolling feud between Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.

The two actors have been embroiled in what is the most delightfully sassy back and forth over the years, which is all played out on Instagram for our own benefit.

From the hilarious digs at one another’s companies to Ryan recent trolling of Hugh on his wedding anniversary with Deborra-Lee Furness, it’s been magical.

Now Hugh has charted the origin of their tit for tat and traced it back to Scarlett – who was married to Ryan from 2008 to 2011.
