Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1969 or 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. Referred to as the "Songbird Supreme" by Guinness World Records, she is noted for her five-octave vocal range, melismatic singing style, and signature use of the whistle register.
She rose to fame in 1990 after signing to Columbia Records and releasing her eponymous debut album, which topped the U.S. Billboard 200 for eleven consecutive weeks. Rather than a single arena, the ceremony will feature performances and acceptance speeches “in global locations, in the midst of sold-out tours, and in custom venues,” the producers say.
The Billboard Music Awards are not going to be broadcast live on any TV channels. Instead, the event will be available to watch online at BBMAs.watch from 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.
All the awards announcements will be on the Billboard and Billboard Music Awards social media channels, with some winners to be revealed from 5 PM ET/2 PM PT.
