Elon Musk and his musician partner Grimes baffled fans when they announced their decision to name their newborn son X Æ A-12.The 48 year old CEO of SpaceX and Tesla announced he and his Canadian singer partner Claire Elise Boucher, known by her stage name of Grimes, had welcomed their newborn son on Monday.

As he shared a photo of him cradling the little bundle of joy on Twitter, he wrote: “Mom & baby all good”. The tot is the couple's first child together and Elon is dad to six boys from previous relationships.

When asked what the couple had chosen to call their child by a fan, he wrote: “X Æ A-12 Musk”. Fans couldn’t help but share their confusion and amusement at the name.
