Those lockdown months taught us plenty of things about our hair: scrunchies are an acceptable hair accessory at any age, yes we CAN survive without our six-weekly highlights top-ups – and seeing naturally grey hair on display is no longer as taboo as it once was.
In fact, in a recent poll Wella Professionals discovered that 57% of women feel that “grey is back in fashion”, with one in five seeing going grey as an “exciting new chapter” in their lives.
And even now we’re seeing celebrities – that revered group of individuals that would previously never betray a single sign of ageing – embracing their natural grey hair.
Dawn French chopped off her trademark brunette bob in favour of a “gronde” (grey-blonde) quiff, Andie Macdowell’s mane of ringlets are now a deep pewter shade, and Cynthia Nixon’s And Just Like That… character Miranda swapped her fiery red hair for a sleek silver bob.
