Channel 4 's How To Lose a Stone in 21 Days received fierce criticism from viewers during Wednesday night's show. The premise is that Dr Michael Mosely takes on a group of volunteers and by altering their diet and exercise regime, makes them shed a stone in just three weeks.
Assisted by his wife Dr Clare Bailey, Dr Michael puts the subjects through their paces, even telling them to pour sugary drinks down the sink in front of him.
The participants are only allowed 800 calories a day and some complained that they felt ravenous, though others confessed they felt surprisingly full.
