Many of us dream of being paid to sit down on our sofa watching the telly. It's an ideal role for TV binging living room dwellers and has catapulted many people to stardom over the years.

While it may seem like the easiest job in the world, a tremendous amount of time and effort goes into making the hit Channel 4 show that viewers don't get to see.

And it won't come as a surprise to most that it is actually incredibly hard to get on the show. Delivering a killer blow last year, a Channel 4 spokesperson confirmed: "We are not currently casting and there is no way to apply to be on Gogglebox." No application process exists as producers venture out into the world to find the next big stars, but that doesn't mean you can't help your chances.
