Yet 25 years ago, life presented Chris with a devastating challenge that would forever alter his path, casting doubt on the possibility of ever taking part in something like Strictly Come Dancing.
At just 22 years old, Chris was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a hereditary eye condition that gradually took his vision away.
Retinitis pigmentosa, or RP, encompasses a variety of genetic disorders that damage the light-sensing retina at the back of the eye, leading to progressive sight loss.
