How NORAD’s Santa tracker lets you follow St. Nick on Christmas Eve

However, that hasn’t stopped North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) from activating its annual Santa tracker, which allows Yuletide yearners to keep tabs on Saint Nick as he delivers presents to children around the world on Christmas Eve. “NORAD radars and satellites are ready to track Santa!” tweeted NORAD, which is responsible for protecting the skies over the US and Canada.

NORAD serendipitously got involved in Santa tracking after its phone number was accidentally printed in a 1955 advertisement prompting children to call the jolly old elf, which resulted in kids blowing up the command’s phone lines.In 2020 — on the tradition’s 65th anniversary — kiddies can once again map out.
