It's no secret that house prices have skyrocketed across the UK over the last two decades, especially in the last five years.

Rising demand and low supply has pushed property costs further and further up, with the average house price having increased dramatically since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite the impacts that Covid-19 had on the economy, UK house prices bucked the trend and have been soaring ever since. Data from the Manchester Evening News has now revealed that Manchester has seen the biggest boom in house prices of anywhere in England and Wales since 2000.

Homes in Manchester are now priced almost six times higher than what they were at the turn of the millennium. 20 years ago, the average house in the borough cost £41,625, but this has since shot up to £241,956 according to the latest data - that’s a rise of 481 percent.
