Long before trolls stalked the Twittersphere sparking conspiracy theories and picking fights, a very different breed of them roamed a far off land spreading harmony and fellowship.
Eccentric and oddly shaped though they were, these gentle trolls had hearts full of joy and only stuck their big fat noses into other people’s business to help them.
And no matter what crises or catastrophes they faced Moominmamma, Moominpappa and little Moomintroll knew there would be a happy ending if they worked hard, respected each other and believed in love and friendship.
The hippo-like Moomins and their pals first appeared on the pages of a children’s book seventy five years ago, written and illustrated by Finnish artist Tove Jansson.
