When viewers watch new ITV drama After the Flood they may think it was shot in a real-life storm. But the dramatic rain-soaked scenes in the new six-part series were all created using gallons of water and special effects.
The new six part series stars Joanna Marshall as pregnant police officer Sophie Rundle who tries to get to the bottom of a mysterious death discovered in the aftermath of the flooding.
It is all set in the fictional town of Waterside - which was shot on location in Glossop in the Peak District and across towns of Greater Manchester.
Manchester's Quaystreet Productions set out with big ambitions from the off - wanting to create eye-popping scenes that you would normally only see in a movie.
