The Chancellor has confirmed an extension to the Household Support Fund. The scheme helps millions of households across the country pay for bills, food, and other essential goods.
So far, the scheme has provided more than £2.5 billion in welfare support through local authorities. Initially, the scheme was set to end on March 31, however, Jeremy Hunt announced in the Spring Budget that it will now go on for an extra six months.
This provides vulnerable families more time to benefit from the support offered by local councils. Mr Hunt told the House of Commons: "I have decided that with the battle against inflation still not over, now is not the time to stop the targeted help it offers.
