House builder supports West Lothian School Bank with bumper donation

Miller Homes Scotland East is supporting The School Bank West Lothian with its Community Fund initiative by donating £2,000 to help support local families experiencing financial hardship with school uniforms and other equipment.Miller Homes Community Fund, now in its third year and fifth round of funding, invites applications for funding from charities and community groups across the country.Since the launch in September 2022, 390 groups and charities across the UK have benefitted from grants totalling £291,000.

In 2024 alone, 31 groups across Scotland received grants.Miller Homes’ donation to The School Bank West Lothian will go towards providing schools with “camp clothing packs” to ensure that every child has a chance to fully participate in school camp trips.Collette Moran, Project Manager of The School Bank, said: “Attending camp is a milestone for many young people; a chance to explore, bond, and create unforgettable memories.“Yet, for some, the excitement is overshadowed by the heavy burden of cost.

Essential items like waterproofs, sleeping bags, and sturdy footwear can feel out of reach for families already struggling financially.“These packs open doors to new experiences, skill-building, and confidence.

They create opportunities for young people to bond with peers, make memories, and feel part of something special.“Just as importantly, they ease the financial strain on families, allowing them to focus on their child’s growth and happiness.”Neil Gaffney, Regional Sales Director for Miller Homes Scotland East, added: “We are delighted to be able to continually support causes within the communities that we have developments.
