This Bursted Earth.The character, a spoof horror author played by Matthew Holness, has performed on stages around the country on previous tours TerrorTome and Incarcerat, bringing his deadpan humour to audiences through a theatrical book reading and audience Q&As.Starting with stage shows, Marenghi became a cult hit thanks to the 2004 series Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place, a send-up of supernatural shows such as Tales Of The Unexpected.
Cast members Richard Ayoade, Alice Lowe, and Matt Berry all went on to great success after appearing in the series.In the two decades since, Holness’ hilariously arrogant horror author has retained a loyal following, and this latest tour looks to add to the 50,000 tickets sold across the previous runs.The press release reads: “Garth Marenghi’s This Bursted Earth continues the adventures of horror author Nick Steen, who has appeared in Marenghi’s two previous bestselling titles, Garth Marenghi’s TerrorTome and Garth Marenghi’s Incarcerat.
