A horror film predicted to become a cult hit that garnered a near perfect Rotten Tomatoes score upon its release last year is now earning accolades as fans realise it's available for home streaming.Late Night with the Devil, which hit cinemas in 2023, offers a unique take on the found footage horror genre.
The bulk of the film presents what appears to be a recording of a live US talk show broadcast from 1977.The film is interspersed with black and white segments showing behind-the-scenes interactions between host Jack Delroy, portrayed by David Dastmalchian, his producers, and his guests.
One such guest is a young girl purportedly possessed by an otherworldly spirit.According to the film's synopsis, Johnny Carson rival Jack Delroy hosts a syndicated talk show 'Night Owls', long trusted by insomniacs across the country.
However, following the tragic death of Jack's beloved wife, the show's ratings have taken a nosedive. In a desperate bid to revive his fortunes, Jack plans an unprecedented Halloween special on October 31st, 1977, oblivious to the fact that he's about to unleash evil into American living rooms, reports the Manchester Evening News.
