Neighbours on a Heywood street woke up to a trail of destruction after a devastating crash. Police, fire crews and paramedics all raced out to Bamford Road shortly after 2am on Thursday (December 12).
It followed a collision involving one car, which ploughed into multiple parked cars and two houses on the street. Eyewitnesses reported at least five cars being damaged in the collision, including some feared to be 'written off' due to severe destruction.
Video footage (below) shows the extent of the damage moments after the collision. A number of cars can be seen with severe damage to their front ends, while one vehicle appears to be on its roof. Two fire engines were called out to the scene. Remarkably, the driver involved managed to escape without serious injuries. She was taken to hospital by ambulance for 'non-serious injuries', North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said.
