Dramatic images and videos show a horror blaze that engulfed two cars on a quiet Scots street - leaving them as smouldering wrecks.The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed to Sheriff Park Avenue in Rutherglen on Friday morning as two cars were reported to be on fire outside an apartment building.Pictures and videos sent to the Record capture the aftermath of the inferno, which police said was not suspicious but still caused devastation.
One picture shows the burnt-out interior of a car, stripped to its metal frame, with melted wires hanging where the dashboard once was.The inside of the car has been reduced to nothing while the car’s door stands open, revealing the full extent of the destruction.Another shot displays the crumpled bonnet of the vehicle that was warped and charred as a result of the fire.A third, shocking image captures the fire at its peak flames raging as thick black smoke fumes into the sky.Police Scotland confirmed that they received a report of two vehicles on fire but that it was not wilful.
