Homeowner appeals to public after mysterious 'hidden note' from 1960s found under wallpaper

A homeowner has appealed to members of the public after a "hidden note" was discovered underneath wallpaper at her property in East Lothian.

The note, which may have been written 55 years ago, was discovered at the home in Dunbar. It was discovered by homeowner Judy Newton during the process of renovating her house.

The piece of paper reads: "Papered by AS Laing, June 1968." After finding the message, Judy wondered if there were any relatives of AS Laing in the area.

While no direct relatives have come forward, the identity of him seems to have been confirmed.It's thought that they were written by a painter and plasterer in Dunbar, named Alistair Lang.
