Homeless man looks unrecognisable after being surprised by a kind barber

A homeless man, who has been living on the streets for two years, was left stunned by a stranger's act of kindness. The man was given an impromptu haircut on a snowy day in Philadelphia, US, by Joshua Santiago.

The barber is renowned on social media for offering free haircuts to the homeless. Joshua approached the 25-year-old, known as T, and prepared him for a haircut.

As he removed his woolly hat and hood, T sat down with a confused expression, which eased as Joshua started trimming his hair, giving him a fresh new look.

Joshua shared a video on his TikTok account, @empoweringcuts, capturing T's heartening response to the unexpected haircut. He captioned the video: "Every soul has a story, and sometimes the loudest cries are the quietest ones." At the time the TikTok video was posted, T, from South Jersey, had been homeless for two years and was apparently struggling with various health problems.
