Hollywood star John Cusack says he was threatened with batons by police and had pepper spray fired at him as he attended a George Floyd protest in Chicago on Saturday.
The High Fidelity actor, 53, joined protests in the US city in reaction to the death of George Floyd last week – who died after now-sacked police officer Derek Chauvin held him down with a knee on his neck for over eight minutes during an arrest in Minneapolis.
Sharing updates and videos via Twitter on Saturday night, John revealed he had come into contact with police aggressively acting as protests turned violent.
The actor – who attended protests with his face covered – claims he had been filming a car on fire when nearby police objected and came at him with batons.
