Hollyoaks legend quits the soap after staggering 13 years on screen

Hollyoaks actor Charlie Behan has reportedly quit the E4 soap after more than a decade on screen.The star plays Charlie Dean, the son of Becca Dean, and is said to have already wrapped filming his final scenes after 13 years.This comes after a cull of 20 actors have been axed following a shake-up to the soap.

According to The Sun a source said: “Charlie’s leaving is a big decision but it’s time for him to spread his wings.There are big changes at Hollyoaks and he’s going to miss everyone there but he’s excited for the future.” A Hollyoaks rep declined to comment.

Over the last 13 years, Charlie has been part of major storylines including being taken in by his aunt Nancy Osborne (Jess Fox), after the death of his mum, Becca Dean (Ali Bastian).

The character also suffered from leukaemia, subject to a custody battle and took part in county lines drug dealing. He was also witness to the fatal stabbing of Jordan Price (Connor Calland) when he attempted to kill him and Ella Richardson (Erin Palmer).
