A rescue helicopter scrambled to save two hikers who were scaling a steep ridge in Glencoe this weekend. The pair had been climbing Aonach Eagach in the sunshine before one fell a short distance and the other became stranded.
With a leg injury, the distressed duo called Police Scotland, who sent Mountain Rescue teams to the incident. A Coastguard helicopter rushed to the ridge and lifted both casualties into the chopper by a long winch.
Their current conditions are unknown. Dramatic pictures from the incident smoke from a flare billowing over the mountains during the mission as mountain rescue teams move in.A statement from Glencoe Mountain Rescue Teams (GMRT) reads: "It was hot and sticky for our volunteers on the hill this weekend.
GMRT were alerted by Police Scotland to a pair of walkers who had come into difficulty while descending from Aonach Eagach."One of the party had fallen a short distance resulting in injury and the other had become crag fast.
