A heroic dad has revealed the dramatic moment he used his car to stop another vehicle whose driver had fallen seriously ill at the wheel whilst on the outside lane of the M62.
John Barlow, from Middleton, feared the man was dead when he glanced into the car heading very slowly along the overtaking lane of the motorway near Leeds on Saturday.
The 59-year-old shared a post on Facebook telling of how he got his Hyundai in front of the Audi and managed to bring the car to a stop before jumping out to help the man - said to be 'barely breathing'. Others then stopped to help, including a doctor on the other carriageway of the M62 who travelled to the next junction, turned round then battled through the backed-up traffic to get to work with a defibrillator.
