Carrie Underwood delivered an a cappella rendition of “America the Beautiful” with the support of politicians and others attending Donald Trump‘s inauguration on Monday (January 20) in Washington, DC.

The 41-year-old singer and American Idol judge was announced as a performer for the big day in American history last week. However, some on social media were concerned that her performance was cut after her scheduled performance time came and went without her appearing.

She did take the center stage in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol to deliver a rendition of the classic song. However, there appeared to be some technical difficulties. Keep reading to find out more… TVLine reported that “technical issues prevented the playing of a musical accompaniment.” However, Carrie proceeded to improvise a raw performance.

After coming out to sing, Carrie seemed to have an audio issue. She made a request of attendees – “If you know the words, help me out here” – before her a cappella rendition of the song.
