Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II dies, aged 96
manchestereveningnews.co.ukQueen Elizabeth II has died at the age of 96, Buckingham Palace has confirmed. Doctors became concerned for her health on Thursday (September 8) and the royal was put under medical supervision at Balmoral Castle.
Buckingham Palace had issued a statement earlier today, saying: "Following further evaluation this morning The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision." All of the Queen's children, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, rushed to be by her side.
Prince William, as well as Prince Harry, made the journey to Scotland while Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, remained with her and William's children and Meghan is thought to have remained in London.
Announcing her death Buckingham Palace said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
