Heineken confirms 'isolated incident' after gas leak sparks 50-metre cordon
manchestereveningnews.co.ukHeineken has confirmed the cause of a gas leak at its Manchester brewery. A 50-metre cordon was put in place around the Denmark Road site, off Princess Road, yesterday afternoon (May 23) while seven fire engines were called out to the scene.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) stated that its crews stayed at the scene for more than two hours while firefighters stopped the leak.
In an update issued this morning, Heineken confirmed that a valve on a carbon dioxide tank inside the brewery had failed. It has been described as an 'isolated incident'.
