Heartbroken pals and Rangers fans raise £13,000 for family of Thomas McAllister

A fundraiser for a young Rangers fan who died in Lisbon during the Europa League clash with Benfica has collected more than £13,000.

Thomas McAllister, known as Tam, was pronounced dead after falling off a chair in a hotel on March 7. The 25-year-old had travelled with pals to the Portuguese capital to support his beloved Ibrox football club.Just hours before the tragedy, the young dad-of-two, from Drumchapel, posed for pictures with friends on social media.

He appeared to be in high spirits ahead of his team's 2-2 draw.Close pal Andrew Johnston has since set up a fundraiser for Tam's family and thanked well-wishers for their generous donations.

More than £13,000 has been raised within 24 hours. A message on the page read: "No one should go to an away game and not come home."Thomas' death has affected and touched so many people and the messages of support have been absolutely unbelievable.
