He thought his brother flirted with his girlfriend, so he almost gouged his eyes out

A drink and drug fuelled thug gouged at his brother's eyes and bit his nose after accusing him of flirting with his girlfriend, a court heard.

Matthew Nadin, 30, launched the frenzied attack at his brother's house on December 15, 2023. It came Nadin accused his brother and girlfriend, who was also present, of flirting with each other, Preston Crown Court heard.

A short time later their mother, who also lived at the house, also joined them but at around 6am, Nadin got up off the sofa and walked towards his brother.

Without warning, he punched him several times in the head. His brother fell back onto the sofa feeling dazed, but Nadin bit down hard on his nose.
