A former police officer who was once branded a hero has been sacked after punching a man more than 25 times after a drunken encounter in a takeaway The now ex-Merseyside Police Constable Alexander Kean was previously commended for rescuing a man lying in the middle of the East Lancs Road with a broken leg.
However, he was hauled before a gross misconduct hearing after a sickening attack on the man outside a pizza shop., the Liverpool Echo reports. READ MORE: Police issue warning to NOT approach this man if you see him The hearing, on September 13 this year, chaired by the force's Chief Constable Serena Kennedy, heard that shortly after 2am on March 16, Kean went to Pizza Chef in St Helens.
Shortly after, his victim, referred to as Mr A, and a woman Miss B also entered. There was said to have been an interaction between the three people and Miss B struck the former officer who then retaliated.
The officer then left the shop and walked down Baldwin Street. However, there was a further interaction and Mr A launched a kick at Kean.
