Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has insisted that second-choice goalkeeper Altay Bayindir should have done better for Tottenham Hotspur's opener in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
After a promising start, United fell behind after a long-range effort from Pedro Porro was parried by Bayindir following a slight deflection.
Dominic Solanke was following in for the hosts and he fired home off the inside of the post. While Solanke took the goal well, Neville was keen to point out Bayindir's effort which cost the Reds the lead. "We know Porro can hit them from distance but I have to have another look at it from a ‘keeper’s perspective," he explained on Sky Sports' co-commentary.
