After an afternoon bingo session turned chaotic in Hartlepool, a couple who found themselves in the midst of riots and were both bitten by police dogs have been sentenced to two years and two months in prison each.Steven Mailen, 54, was identified as "one of the main instigators" of the significant disorder within the town.
His partner, 29-year-old Ryan Sheers, was wounded on the hip by the dog during the incident.Their "disgraceful" conduct led to the animals' attack on both individuals, according to the judge.
During the rammy, a brash and drunken Sheers was spotted taunting the police and even brazenly declared, "I pay your wages".
However, his confidence diminished swiftly when a police dog latched onto his shorts, dragging them down in a spectacle that left onlookers laughing.
