Harry Styles has reflected on going to therapy for five years, admitting that it has made him "more alive" after years of avoiding it.The former One Direction star, who can be seen in the new trailer for his upcoming film, Don't Worry Darling, alongside Florence Pugh, confessed that he had previously had misconceptions about going to therapy. "I thought it meant that you were broken," the 28 year old movie star said. "I wanted to be the one who could say I didn't need it." However, Harry explained that attending therapy "opened up rooms in himself" that he didn't know existed and allowed him to face his mental health problems in a healthy and safe space.

Speaking to Better Homes & Gardens for their June cover story, Harry added that therapy helped him solve his problem of "emotionally coasting" through life. "I think that accepting living, being happy, hurting in the extremes, that is the most alive you can be.

Losing it crying, losing it laughing—there's no way, I don't think, to feel more alive than that,' he continued. The Watermelon Sugar hitmaker also revealed that he was able to get to the root of why he felt the need to be so "likeable" in his career with his therapist.

He traced it back to his early X Factor days when he was encouraged to "give much away" in order to be liked. The multi-talented star went on to recall the worry he faced about saying something wrong in interviews while he was a member of One Direction.
