Harry Redknapp says he kicked off I'm A Celebrity a “miserable git” and left as King of the Jungle after relearning silky smiley skills.

The football hero admitted 34 years in management had taken its toll before he went on the show in 2018. Speaking to his old camp-mate Fleur East, 32, on her The Reality of Reality TV podcast, Harry, 73, said: “When I went in there with you guys, we had a laugh and it was fun. "It took me back to being a player again, when I used to love a laugh and a joke." Harry began his management career with Bournemouth in 1983 and ended it with Birmingham City in 2017.

He said: "I used to come home on a Saturday night, after a bad defeat, and I couldn't talk. "You don’t realise how low you’re getting.
