Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer It’s time to return to Hogwarts for the holidays: Warner Bros. Discovery has released the first trailer for its new baking competition “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking,” revealing the show will debut Nov.
14 at 8 p.m. ET on Food Network and stream globally on Max. According to WBD, which is currently producing a “Harry Potter” TV series for HBO, “further broadcasters” that will be airing “Wizards of Baking” will be announced at a later date.
Food Network describes the “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking” competition as a “ground-breaking series” that “blends legendary storytelling and fantastical edible creations in a never-before-seen competition that will have audiences at the edge of their seats.” Hosted by James and Oliver Phelps (who played twins Fred and George Weasley in the “Harry Potter” films), the six-episode competition will be judged by Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef as well as special guest judges and “Harry Potter” alums Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley).
Per the description for the series, “The competition kicks off with a super-sized episode in which nine teams of pastry chefs and cake artists are tasked to craft massive, spellbinding edible showpieces inspired by moments and themes from the Harry Potter saga.
