David Tennant and Cush Jumbo’s ‘Macbeth’ Production Gets Cinema Release in U.K., U.S. and More as First Clip Is Unveiled (EXCLUSIVE)

Ellise Shafer The critically acclaimed West End production of “Macbeth,” starring David Tennant and Cush Jumbo, is getting a cinema release across the U.K., U.S., Australia and other select international territories.

The adaptation, directed by Max Webster, is currently playing to sold-out audiences at London’s Harold Pinter Theatre. Tennant and Jumbo play Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, respectively, in a new take on Shakespeare’s classic tale of love and murder.

In an exclusive first clip of the filmed version — which was shot during the play’s run at the Donmar Warehouse last year — Tennant and Jumbo passionately perform Act 1, Scene 7, where they conspire to kill Duncan, the King of Scotland, so Macbeth can take the throne.

Watch the clip above. “Macbeth” will screen in cinemas beginning Feb. 5, 2025 from Trafalgar Releasing in partnership with Donmar Warehouse.
