Paapa Essiedu has reportedly been offered the role of Severus Snape in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series on HBO.

The network is turning the beloved book series into a new television show with each season following one of the seven books.

The late Alan Rickman portrayed Snape in all eight of the Warner Bros. films and now Paapa is in talks to take on the role in the TV show.
