'Harry Potter' TV Casting: Paapa Essiedu Reportedly Offered Severus Snape Role

The network is turning the beloved book series into a new television show with each season following one of the seven books.
The late Alan Rickman portrayed Snape in all eight of the Warner Bros. films and now Paapa is in talks to take on the role in the TV show. Keep reading to find out more… The Hollywood Reporter says that he “has been offered the part although it is not clear if negotiations have begun in earnest.” HBO said, “We appreciate that such a high-profile series will draw a lot of rumor and speculation.
As we make our way through pre-production, we will only confirm details as we finalize deals.” Mark Rylance is being eyed for the role of Dumbledore. Paapa is best known for starring in TV shows like Gangs of London, I May Destroy You, The Lazarus Project, and Black Mirror.
