Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have allegedly been exiled from the American elite following the release of their explosive Netflix docuseries and the Duke of Sussex’s scathing memoir.
Since fleeing the UK back in 2020, the Sussex’s have made a number of troubling accusations about the Royal Family and culture surrounding them in the UK.They were famously interviewed by TV legend Oprah and even lodged with American filmmaker Tyler Perry for a period where Harry admitted to rolling joints.
On Sunday, Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, were notably absent from Oprah’s 69th birthday, which celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Sharon Stone and Jessica Alba attended.
The royal couple also skipped the 25th anniversary of the cosmetics company Anastasia Beverly Hills, though celebs like Jennifer Lopez and Heidi Klum were snapped in attendance. The Spectator columnist Kara Kennedy argued that such “snubs” indicate that the “tide is turning with the Sussexes.” It is, however, worth noting the many other reasons Harry and Meghan were not in attendance; after all, they have two young kids, Archie, three, and Lilibet, one. "Snubs like this show that the tide is turning with the Sussexes - and that the gamble that saw them trade in the lifelong duty of being working royalty for the money and fame of being celebrities hasn’t paid off," Kara wrote.
