A woman was seriously injured and her dog died when they were mown down by a hit-and-run driver. The dog-walker had been taking her pet Millie for a stroll along Doe Bank Lane, in Great Barr, Birmingham when a Renault Clio ploughed into them both on July 22.
Shocking CCTV footage shows the vehicle losing control before mowing down the victim and the tragic pooch sending them flying into a bush.
Two men and a woman then abandon the car before running away from the scene on foot in the direction of a Vauxhall Astra which had stopped up ahead.
The elderly woman, who has not been named, survived but suffered a broken leg while Millie the dog sadly died at the side of the road.
