Hamilton Accies ace Lewis Smith eyes Kelty Hearts revenge after painful Scottish Cup exit

Lewis Smith admits Hamilton Accies will be out for revenge and eager to wrap up three points when they welcome Kelty Hearts for their final fixture before Christmas.

The Fifers sent Accies crashing out of the Scottish Cup at the first hurdle last month and they will be hoping for a repeat of that 2-0 win when they come calling on League One business this Saturday.The pain of that loss and a lacklustre showing is still fresh in the minds of the Accies players, as they also lick their wounds from the devastating defeat to title rivals Falkirk last weekend that has them trailing in the title race.The Bairns lead the way by three points with a game in hand, so Accies will be desperate to avoid a nightmare before Christmas and make sure they break Hearts this time.Smith said: “That Kelty defeat in the cup was our worst performance of the season.“We were really below the standards that we set and nobody was happy with that, so hopefully everyone will be right up for it to get back at them on Saturday.“Some people look at the part-time teams in the league [as being not as strong] but there’s lots of good players out there.“We don’t take any game lightly, we treat every game the same and treat every team with the respect they deserve, but hopefully we can get the win.“Falkirk have obviously started the season really well, we knew that before the game last week, but we have as well.“Both teams are going well and hopefully we can keep chasing them, and not let them run away with it at the top of the table.”Falkirk’s game in hand is against high-flying Cove on January 9 and with Cove having already dished out a 1-0 defeat to Accies this season, Smith knows there is hope their rivals could do them a favour there.But he insists they
